Hey all,

can someone please explain why E. is wrong and C is right.
In the explanation, there is written that "it" in E has no clear referent, whereas "it" in C correctly agrees with elephant seal. I do not see this point.

The eyes of the elephant seal adapt to darkness more quickly than any other animal yet tested, thus allowing it to hunt efficiently under the gloomy conditions...

C: The eyes of the elephant seal adapt to darkness more quickly than do those of any other animal yet tested, allowing it ...

E: Because the eyes of the elephant seal adapt to darkness more quickly than do those of any other animal yet tested, it allows them ...

Thanks in advance
