According to some analyst, the gains in the stock market reflects growing confidenace that the economy will avoid the recession that many had feared earlier in the year and instead come in a soft landind followed y gradual increase in usiness activity.

The is OG 11 questions 45, I am wondering that WHY we need HAD (in many had feared)----- Is there aretwo events????

had feared is the pest perfect, which seems appropriate here because they feared earlier in the year and seemingly dont now
