Let Old Macdonald has '2x' no of cows.

According to question, Raphael and Ronald have 'x' no of cows each.

Raphael, the elder brother, immediately gave Ronald 5 of his cows.
Implies that Raphael has (x-5) no of cows and Ronald has (x+5) no of cows.

Each of the brothers sold his herd for the same price
Or, #cows Raphael * unit selling price of cows by Raphael= #cows Ronaldl * unit selling price of cows by Ronald
Or, (x-5)*800=(x+5)*300
Or, 8x-40=3x+15
Or, 5x=55
Or, x=11

Therefore, Old Macdonald has '2x'=2*11=22 no of cows.
