Gallons /acres= 2x/(50+60)= x/55
y= x- 50x/55 = x/11

water to onion filed per acre= x/50
water to pumpkin filed per acre= x/60
now y litres from onion field transferred to pumpkin so water left to onion filed=x-y and now water in pumpkin=x+y
so now per acre water has to be equivalent (gvn in qsn)
(x-y)/50=(x+y)/60
so y=x/11

We can create the equation:

(x - y)/50 = (x + y)/60

60x - 60y = 50x + 50y

10x = 110y

x = 11y

x/11 = y

Answer: C
