We can solve this with equivalent ratios

The ratio is (number of centimeters on MAP)/(number of kilometers on the GROUND)

Let x = the number of centimeters between the on the MAP

We can write: 1/35 = x/245
Cross multiply to get: (35)(x) = (1)(245)
Simplify: 35x = 245
Solve: x = 245/35 = 7

Answer: B

We can create the proportion:

1/35 = n/245

245 = 35n

7 = n

Answer: B
