CONGRATS!
PS I wondered whatever happened with last night in SF, but celebrated with my friends there anyways!!! However, I am sure we'll meet in Seattle now
I really apologize about that U2Lovergirl (and Pelihu also)
. After interviewing, I flew to SLC to visit BYU and received an admissions notification from UW three days later. I then proceeded to check out a couple schools in Illinois and ultimately decided to cancel the SF tour because I was convinced that Seattle is the best place for me to study, work, and eventually raise a family.
You are right, there are numerous places to explore all over the Northwest, including Vancouver BC to the north and Oregon to the south. The Cascades offer descent snow for us fellow boarders/skiers. The summers aren't too hot either.
Another major factor in the decision process is the asian influence in Washington. One in three students at UW are from either China, Japan, or Korea. One in four residents in the Puget Sound area are also asian or of asian descent, which will definately ease my wife's transition and (hopefully) aid in my post MBA job search.
Good luck with your GMAT studies and MBA aspirations. Also, remember that it is your "fit" with the school that is the most important factor that adcoms use to base their decisions.
One final point. I don't know if it was by pure coincidence, but exactly 24 hours after sending a follow up thank you letter to the interviewer, I was accepted. Be sure to employ this tactic when you visit and interview at the school of your choice.
