I'll tell you what my seniors told me - one bad grade doesn't matter if you're able to spin your story correctly in your essays and applications. B- is not thaaat bad and you can always cover up by getting a fantastic quant score in gmat. please take my advice with a grain of salt but we have all made mistakes and it's okay.

Right now I’m a college senior double majoring in Economics & Finance and Politics thinking about a pursuing an MBA to eventually do public sector management consulting— but I have some concerns over my grades.

Currently, I have a 3.955 GPA from a small liberal arts college where I attend on a full-ride. I’m generally happy with this number, except the reason I have it is because I have all A’s and one B- in Calculus II.

My concern is that the B- in Calc II (taken my Junior Year) will undermine how I look in quantitative aspects where I DID do well (two econometric courses, statistics, etc.)
I worked with a guy who had several "D's" in college and yet was still able to get into M7. So never say never... and B- is not that bad!! Especially in Calc II. Focus on what your impact has been-- no one is perfect-- and in some ways the B- in Calc makes you more human! Don't worry about it!
Will this be enough to rule me out for a top level MBA. I was planning on applying to some deferred programs (Columbia is the main one I want to get into) and I was wondering how much of a knock against me this will be.
