One more time

Question

I gave GMAT on 16th August '18 and scored 610 with Q48 and V27.I had been scoring quite Ok in Mocks.I guess i started well in GMAT exam in verbal but i got lost when the first RC passage popped up.I wasn't able to understand and comprehend the passage well. I guess i got intimidated by the passage which set the rhythm wrong.From then on, i was not able to do well.Want to improve on RC and a bit on CR. I had been doing 3-4 RC passages everyday but the consistency,in terms of right answers, was missing. Sometimes i used to get it 100% right and sometimes 0%.

Quant is my strength on any day.

Planning to give the exam again in 2 months time.Could anyone advice me how to improve RC in 2 months time.

Exactly the same thing happened to me on the test day. I ended up with exactly the same score as yours.

In GMATclub I have gone through a lot of posts which tell us about preparing for RCs. On the test day it may be possible that a passage that is incredibly difficult shows up on the screen. Under those circumstances, people like me reach a state of dilemma. They are torn between a choice to keep pursuing that passage which is very difficult to understand and a choice to let go of it(This is easier to do in SC or CR but not in RC where we have 4 questions). This leads to anxiety which affects rest of the verbal sections. Could you please shed some light on how to tackle such situations?

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn't provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
