I have installed the ESSecure browser package available on official gmat website in system requirements.
But upon installation if I try opening the app then it throws this error on Mac:
“ESSecureBrowser” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
I am really doubtful if this will cause a problem on the test day too.
If anyone else has had a similar experience, please let me know if this is something to be worried about or not.
Hello,
sanyuktas. You need not worry about the issue. It is just an annoying security feature that is built into Macs. (I have come across the same message when I have attempted to download and play a computer game.) There is an easy fix that I will walk you through below. Follow these steps right after you get the error message.
Step 1: Open
System Preferences. (You should see the gear icon in the tray at the bottom of the screen... unless you have moved the tray.)

Step 2: Select the
Security & Privacy icon that is shaped like a house.

Step 3: Change permissions under
Allow apps downloaded from to allow the software to run. (It goes without saying that you will need your password.)

Close the Security & Privacy panel and try to run the software again. It should work just fine. Good luck.

Hi, thanks! This helped. It’s now been installed on my laptop and I can see it on my application, however I am unable to open the application. Is that how it’s supposed (only permitted 15 mins before the exam) or should I reach out to customer care?
