Hi there,
I have been accepted for a MBA in a university in UK, with a condition that I meet minimum GMAT score of 620. I have taken the exams twice before the offer and the best score was 560 (43,25). After granted for the offer, I have retaken GMAT a few times and the best score is 610 (45,28). Later on I have attempted twice.
the last 3 attempts, which are significant in achieving the target score, are as below:
19/03/13 : 610 (Q45, V28)
23/04/13 : 600 (Q47, V26) >>> felt totally exhausted after 18-20 questions in verbal part and couldn't concentrate till the end, the result of having fever the day before the exam and sleeplessness
05/06/13 : 600 (Q47, V25)
my mock tests: (details only mock test before the last exam)
07/05/13 670 (Q43, V38)
MGMAT CAT 1A
18/05/13 700 (Q49, V36) GMATprep 2.0 2
21/05/13 610 (Q46, V31) Grockit CAT >>> based on these raw scores, the total score should have been around 640
26/05/13 670 (Q45, V36)
MGMAT CAT 2A
29/05/13 690 (Q45, V39)
MGMAT CAT 3A
01/06/13 680 (Q41, V41)
MGMAT CAT 4A
Although there were some bias due to previously done questions in
MGMAT CAT, the real GMAT score shouldn't have resulted in these low scores.
Materials used:
OG' 12, depleted during the first and second year of the exam, but I still keep reviewing it
KAPLAN course along with course books, took twice
Magoosh.com, depleted all the questions
Grockit.com, xp considered low as I just registered one month before my last attempt
GC questions
And some private tuition for verbal part
Based on my analysis, I attribute the low score of my last attempt to the drop in efficacy under pressure and the drop in stamina after having done qualitative part.
In fact I only need Q47 and V28, but unluckily they were in different attempts. Now I got only one chance in the early next month due to the September intake approaching.
Someone said that I have taken the GMAT so many times in short period that it resulted in a long term stress, even in subconscious level. This kind of stress presses your true ability when performing under pressure. He advised that I should change my strategy, perhaps renegotiating with the university, because lacking 10 overall GMAT score is really not significant in reflecting one's performance.
I would really appreciate for any advice or any experience sharing.
thank you
