Hi guys,
Today, I have a class visit and an (open) interview at Tuck. The class visit, which was in the morning, was great, and I had my interview in the afternoon.
I interviewed with a second-year student, and I have mixed feelings about it. There were several questions that I thought that I could have answered better, including "why Tuck?" "tell me about a difficult situation you experienced in the workplace," and "a time where I practiced leadership." For the last two questions, I feel that I could have used better examples, but the "why Tuck," I pretty much just focused on how I want to be part of the small and collaborative community.
On the other hand, I felt that I made some good arguments about why I want an MBA, and how I value a strong community. He agreed with me on some of the points I made.
At the end of the interview, he handed me his business card and told me to email him about anything that I think of. Finally, when he shook my hand, he told me "good luck with the application," and I thought that his tone had a
you'll need all the luck in the world vibe to it.
Is handing out business cards at the end of an interview a common practice? Is this a good sign, or a bad sign? Do I follow up with just a "thank you" email, or should I add something else to strengthen my application? I know that the interview is over, so will it help me if I add something at all?
Much thanks.
