So, very quiet today

let me ask a question and answer it

Question:
Is R1 always better than R2?
Answer:
There is a misconception regarding R1 vs. R2. To be honest, most schools keep the same number of places in R1 and in R2 and the chances are kind of similar. What is the best? Well
R1 is better in terms of project management – you will know in November what is happening with you, and should you target any R2 schools.
BUT, R2 beats R1 any day, if your R1 application is not maximized. For example, your chances are higher, in any school, in R2, if your GMAT is 20 points higher, or your essays are better
OK, I will ask myself one more question 😊
(and then, we can close the session if no questions today!)
Question
How can I overcome a low GMAT / GPA score?
Answer
Schools look for a number of factors, and the GMAT/GPA is just one (important but one) of those… for exmaple: if you can show you are:
• Smart & Dependable with an interesting professional experience
• Have a vision on why MBA and what are your career goals
• Show lots of school interest & motivation
• And have broad horizons (hobbies / volunteering)
This will all make you an appealing candidate…
