Since the total rainfall in Brooks County is in ascending order, the median is the third element - x.

Given: Average = Median ($$\frac{15+24+x+45+60}{5}= x$$)

Solving for x, we get $$144+x = 5x$$ -> $$4x = 144$$ ->$$x = \frac{144}{4} = 36$$

Therefore, the average rainfall in Brooks County is 36(Option D)
