My Oxford interview was much easier than the Cambridge one, but I've heard some people got a really tough male professor as interviewer in Oxford, so I guess it all comes down to luck. :)

As I stated above, do ask for authenticated copies. In my country you could go either to the school that issued them and ask for authenticated, stamped, signed copies, or you could go to the public notary/city hall and have them take copies of the originals, which they then verified with a stamp and signature.

In Oxford I staid at the Royal Oxford. They had a good price-quality ratio I think, and they're close to the b-school.
In Cambridge I staid at Lensfield, a quirky, nice, small hotel.

How do international applicants handle the interviews. I am an Indian applicant thinking about applying to Oxbridge. For those lucky enough to be invited, does everyone have to interview on-campus or do Oxbridge schools conduct in-person interviews in India?

I am assuming not all international applicants might be able to travel to Europe for interviews.

No idea about Cambridge but Oxford conducts interviews in Delhi and Mumbai on selection of dates.. Also opportunities for telephonic interviews ..

I'm applying R2 to both Cambridge and Oxford, so this is a bit off the application/interview topic.

I received an e-mail that Oxford is going to be doing one-on-one consultations near me in a couple of weeks. The time offered to me is incredibly inconvenient; it would require me to miss 1/2 a day of work and would require a 3-hour round trip (probably more with traffic).

How informative or important are these one-on-one sessions? I would definitely like to know more about Oxford and I have questions, but can they be just as easily answered via the phone? Or, since I might not get to visit the college before I submit my application, does that make any in-person contact more important?

I would appreciate any advice!

I don't know how important the contact is but I did attend one of these sessions as part of an open day a few months back. As part of the full open day experience I'm not sure how much it added except we were talking specifically about my application. I was able to ask very precise questions and was offered advice on what I needed to focus on when completing my application.

You'll probably be able to get the same info over the phone but personally I'd suggest you keep the appointment if you can make it work, particularly if you've known about the date for a while where I think you need to consider the impression canceling may leave.

All just IMHO obviously :-D

Agree with SF.

I got a lot of useful info specifically with my application for R1 at the consultation. Very very useful indeed.

But, if you are coming to Oxford for an open day, you would have chance to do the same when here also. MBA open day has 1-2-1 sessions also.

I received my interview confirmation @ Oxford today. The e-mail clearly mentions I need to take my transcripts with me for the interview. I am in same situation of having sent my transcripts to other school. Have mailed for alternate.. waiting now for answer and off course would share that once known...

PS Interviewing on campus at 10:50 am and attending a lecture in the afternoon... Can't wait...
