I'm pretty sure that you have to submit your application prior to scheduling an interview, but you might check the website / with the admissions office to be sure. Are you visiting on an "open day?"

I am planning to apply to Round 2 of both Oxford
and round 2 of Cambridge.
I have registered for a visit to Oxford on 7th Dec 07.
Would be great if I can meet anyone of you.
Also can anyone please advise if I should schedule an interview prior to submission of the application at Oxford ?

Hello Rocky, swgotz
I just got a call for interview from Oxford for Fall'08 MBA.

I already have visited the school for an open day in december and then applied.

What is your suggestion, should I go for an in person interview or telephonic interview.

I know it is a vague question, but if you can give me some pointer it would be of great help.

I am currently in Zurich and if needed can come down

I don't know if anyone's responded to the interview questions yet, but I'd say you'll be fine doing either a telephone or an in-person interview. As far as I can tell from the make-up of the current class the school does not favor one type over another. If you feel you personally have an advantage in a specific type of interview then I'd go with whatever that is.

As far as what to expect, in my experience the Oxford interview was a little tougher than most of the interviews I did for US schools. The interviewer asked the standard questions but also pushed me to make sure I could fully explain and/or back-up my responses, whereas most of the other interviews I had were more "get-to-know-you" type deals with only a handful of questions that required significant thought. However, I know that a good number of my classmates had different interviewers and "friendlier" questions. I'd just be sure you understand the intricacies of your job and how it relates to your company's business and also have answers to the standard MBA-interview questions.

I'm at Oxford now. To prepare for interviews I'd google "MBA admissions interviews" or something similar. I did that last year and found quite a few sites with lists of typical interview questions. I'd take a look at a few of those sites and make sure you have answers to those questions. In my experience they do come up. That's probably your best bet.

I gather that quite a few of the fellow GMAT clubbers are at SBS!
How do all of you view the current recruitment/placement scenario? Do you think the situation will improve/worsen at the end of September 2008?
