Re: Calling all MIT Sloan MBA Applicants: (2018 Intake) Class of 2020!! [#permalink]
Can everyone please update the "Decision Tracker"? Only 3.6% of applicants (9/215) have been invited to the interview while Sloan Adcom will interview 20-25% of the applicants this round. If the profile is updated, there are two scenarios: the majority of the applicants will receive an invite next week or the population here are not representative of the whole applicant pool, which is unlikely. Any thoughts?

My thoughts.
1. Yes, a majority of the invites will go out in next week's wave. It seems they've only been trickling out so far.
2. I do not thinkthat the population here represents the application pool, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. I would guess that the people actively involved on forums like this are the high achievers and will likely have an invite rate higher than 25%.

Is October 26th the last invite day, with notifications of not getting accepted on Nov 2nd, or is the 2nd also an interview invitation day?

I don't know for certain but I can't imagine they would have a day just to send out dings since, presumably, everyone would know by Oct 26th whether they got an invite or not. My guess is they continue to send out invites on Nov 2.

The other thing to consider is that not everyone would immediately post here after receiving an invite, whether because they are at work or because they are telling people they know. I would bet we would see a few more people saying they got an invite over the next few hours.

I always use "# Application Submitted" as my denominator for calculations.. and that's 106. Your point is still valid.. we will see some more updates over the next few days. I'd still guess that only 30-40% of 1st round interview invites are out so far. So game is still on..

Tons of people only update after they get their final decision. That’s why when you look at last years data, you are including TONS of entries for R1 that were made in December after the admits.
