Also, Souvik and patrickbateman2k15 did anybody from MIT visit your linkedin profile? Or anybody else's for that matter?

I did have a few visits on my Linkedin profile which I suspect could be by some adcom member. However, as these visits were done in private mode, I can't say for sure.

How important is LinkedIn page to admission chance?

Don't stress about it. It's got nothing to do with your application. They have your entire file for review. As long as there are no red flags on your linkedin profile you don't need to stress about it. Not having one won't be a detriment to your chances. Some folks don't need a linkedin profile...eg: entrepreneurs, someone working with the govt. etc. No need to stress.

Regarding admission chances, if your linkedin profile is stronger than your actual resume, then it just means you did not put in the right effort to craft your resume you submitted. But I doubt anyone would do something like that.

Here's a different question - For those of you who have invites, could you share what you did for your video essay? Was it casual ? Formal ? Suited up ? What did you speak about ?

I got an interview. 760 gmat, 3.6 gpa. My video was professional (suit, no props, etc.).

I spoke about some cool things I've done at work at what my interests are outside of work - and merged that with how I would want to make an impact at Sloan.

Hope this helps

I wore a suit sitting down in front of my desktop computer at home. Cleaned up the background of the room a bit so there was nothing in view to distract.

I took the "introduce yourself" aspect at face value and just talked about something I enjoy doing - in this case, a hobby that has turned into part-time contractor work on the side. I figured it was unique and would make me stand out a bit. I did not mention anything else about my professional career or give my life story. I also did not tie it back to Sloan in any way.

I am from Mumbai and got an interview invite yesterday. When I was booking my interview slot in Delhi, I noticed that there were about 8 slots per day and the dates were mentioned as 6th to 9th Nov. Does it mean that in R1 they would be giving a total of 4X8=32 interview calls to India based candidates. But then, there could be more than one interviewer visiting India meaning more than one candidate could be interviewed in a single slot. What do others think?

This is interesting! Thanks for this info. I am still positive about more invites for New Delhi location based on above info. Also, the dates selected are far away enough to give adcom sufficient time to send out more invites for this particular location.

But then again this could be me being a little too over optimistic.

This is interesting info. I’d say 30-60 interview invites for Delhi location sounds about right, assuming around 550-700 invites being sent out for R1. (MIT interviews ~20-25% of applicants and total applicants across all 3 rounds were ~6K last year)

I also think they would have sent out all India invites. I don’t see any reason why they would spread it out over 2 waves, and give some candidates a full extra week vs others.

I’d expect Cambridge invites to keep rolling in till the end.

Needless to say, this is all just my thinking and guesstimation.. although I would like to say that I had predicted on Chat about the Indian wave coming out yesterday! :-)

I agree to most of what you say but as per last year thread, there was one candidate who literally had just 2 nights to write his essays and appear for interview. So, I don't think there is a question of some candidates getting more time than others to write essay or prepare for their interviews.

has anyone who is interviewing at the Dallas location heard back? i'm guessing this region might be last since they extended the deadline for those affected by the hurricane but that could just be wishful thinking on my part

Confirmed. I emailed the AO directly about this. Two more waves to go. There will be both invites and dings on Nov.2nd. Good luck to all of us!!

I don't know for certain but I can't imagine they would have a day just to send out dings since, presumably, everyone would know by Oct 26th whether they got an invite or not. My guess is they continue to send out invites on Nov 2.[/quote]

That is great! For now, I will hold on to whatever ray of hope there is. Anyway patrickbateman2k15 if I may ask, what is your profile?
Also, how much time do you have to submit your essay?
