Calling all Applicants: INSEAD Jan 2020 Intake (Class of Dec 2020)

Hi Guys,

Interview 1 done today. It went OK. My guy was a bit older (2003 alumni). We had a brief chat before getting into it when he opened laptop and said 'well I have a few questions I have to ask and take notes for' so it felt a bit more formal than it could've been but it wasn't too bad. Was generally a question and answer session as opposed to a conversation. Questions below as far as I can remember them. All in all it was about 50mins.

1. Tell me about your career
2. What do you know about the course? Why do you want to do it?
3. Why do you want to do an MBA to go into Consulting?
4. What sort of international experience do you have? Do you speak any other languages?
5. Are you intelligent?
6. Do you lead either at work or in personal life?
7. Are you emotionally intelligent? Do you understand people's feelings?
8. How can you justify the expense of an MBA? (thought this was quite interesting and was actually one of my questions for him)
9. Post MBA plans and how it would help me.

There were a couple more along the way but that was the main crux of it. At the end I asked a couple of questions then we finished up and he said he thought an MBA would be good for me to do with my background. It was very hard to judge how it went (I'd say I normally have a realistic view of how job interviews go). It wasn't amazing and free flowing but I don't think I did badly enough that he'd have me down as a definite 'no'.

Happy to answer any questions but it did seem to me that there were clearly some set questions that they needed answering. I guess every interviewer will have a different style/way of getting the answers out of you.
