Hi kebabcurry,

the interviewer chooses the language the interview will be conducted in. However, INSEAD requires at least one question to be asked in English.

I hope this helps.

Congratulations to all invited to interview so far!

Good luck
Alex

Thanks Alex. Can we ask the interviewer to switch to English because we aren't that comfortable using the second language?

How should one best navigate this situation?

Hi kebabcurry,

sure, you can ask your interviewer to switch to English, but I recommend to do the initial chit-chatting in the language your interviewer starts speaking to you in (assuming you can hold a simple conversation). If it's not English, after the small talk you can politely ask to switch.

Also, when you reach out to both your interviewers to schedule your interviews, write your emails in English. If they reply in English, there is a high chance the entire interview will be conducted in English.

INSEAD alumni are quite global, so chances are that at least one of them is a foreigner in the country you reside and also prefers English.

I hope this helps.

Hi all question for the experts. Are INSEAD interviews typically done in English? Whilst I meet the 2nd language requirements, I'm not exactly comfortable interviewing in my second language and afraid that I would not be able to articulate myself as clearly or elegantly as I would in English

All the MBA interviews are done in English. I don't know of any schools that interviews in some other language :) Also, from the interview debriefs, I guess it is very clear that INSEAD interviews in English.

Curious what people think - Does it make sense to schedule both the interviews on the same day? Both my interviewers are in the same city and it is 2.5 hours away. On one hand, I am thinking it would be good to get them both done on the same day, but on the other hand, I am worried about mental fatigue.

Hi WaitlistMuch,

I understand making two trips would be inconvenient, but I recommend having both interviews in different days. Not only because of mental fatigue, but also because it is always good to have some time to analyse how the first interview went, so that, if needed, you can prepare better for the second one.

I hope this helps.

I agree with the above reply from Alex for the same reasons. I prefer having interviews on different days just because it gives some time to analyze the first interview. I agree the trip of 2.5 hrs might be somewhat inconvenient but I guess that's the tradeoff here. If I were you, I will choose to have interviews on successive days. Good luck.

No I didn't. INSEAD was the only school I applied in favor of period and timing that program end. I probably apply for others, September 2020 intake :)

Just curious, what was your score (with the split)? Which country are you from?

Interview went well and was fairly relaxed. Seems more like a conversation than an interview. Will post a debrief later.
