Hey Guys! Not a promotion or anything. But I took someone’s advice from this group for my HEC presentation and spoke with Kunj Behari. I really recommend him. Specially for presentation. He took the topic that I had already prepared and personalised it and made it engaging. Must reach out to him.

OneLazyBum - some more details can help assess your profile better e.g. undergrad pedigree/ GPA, which company/ companies have you worked in, career arc (promotions?), extracurriculars, etc.

Broadly though, since the GMAT score is a bit on the lower side considering the Indian applicant pool, I'd suggest improving your score (by 20-30+ points) and looking at Round 1 for the Aug'27 intake.

Hi OneLazyBum How you have progressed in your career over the last 5+ years will remain a key consideration for B-school admits. I think you may already understand that yours is a crowded pool, so considering that, what do you feel may be the differentiators in your case? Also remember that with 5.5 years of experience, the schools will expect signs of increasing ownership and maturity. They will want to see whether you remained confined within execution layers or whether your exposure gradually expanded toward stakeholder management, cross-functional influence, prioritization discussions, and a strategic understanding of the business.
If you are targeting PM, I strongly recommend you read my old post here to understand what the school would be evaluating in your goals strategy.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. You have a solid profile for HEC Paris. One thing that stands out is your career progression. Getting promoted to Senior Engineer and working with clients like Google, Meta, and Qualcomm shows that you’ve been trusted with increasing responsibility.

AdComs usually value growth and impact more than the size of the company itself.
Your goal of moving into PM also makes sense. Many engineers use an MBA to move closer to business, strategy, and product decisions, so the transition is quite logical.

A few things I’d love to know:
1. What kind of projects are you working on today?
2. Have you led teams or mentored junior engineers?
3. Any extracurricular activities, volunteering, or leadership experience outside work?

Your GPA is slightly on the lower side, but I don’t think it will be a major issue by itself. A strong GMAT/GRE score and a well-defined career story can help balance that.

Decent profile for HEC. Seems like you still have to take the GMAT?
Relevance of career goals from an employment perspective will be supremely important. In addition, you will have to make an equally strong case for why HEC Paris for your career goals. It will also help to explain why you need a second MBA

Apoorv0194 - some more details can help assess your profile better: undergrad/ MBA universities, GMAT/ GRE score, which companies have you worked in, any promotions/ progressions, international exposure, extracurriculars etc.

Broadly though, it'd be crucial to have a strong narrative covering your experiences (rationale behind the job switches), why (second) MBA, why now, and why HEC.

All the best!

Hello,

We had a 100% success rate with HEC MBA for 2026 intake. My opinion always is that the only 2 components that me as a counsellor or you as an applicant cannot change are 1) Academic profile (grades, prior education, and GMAT/GRE score) and 2) Professional experience (roles you’ve had and companies you’ve been associated with. Your grades are sorted for HEC but a 625 FE at the very least would be needed to apply. Professional experience looks sorted but I would ideally like to have a more comprehensive overview of your journey before commenting on it. Based on this, you can really know if HEC is likely to happen because everything else that matters, it’s much more to do with what matters to HEC and aligning your storyline to that.

You can send your CV to us on WhatsApp on +919971444312 for honest feedback.

Hi
The mix of B2B sales and marketing, stakeholder training, and now data analytics and AI marketing gives you exposure to different sides of the business. That kind of experience can be valuable, especially if you’re looking at operations or consulting roles in the future.

Why do you feel a second MBA is necessary at this stage?
What type of consulting are you targeting, operations, strategy, technology, or something else?

Your academics are mixed. The 12th score is lower than average, but you’ve shown improvement over time, including a good MBA GPA and six years of professional experience.

The biggest question for me is around the second MBA. HEC will want to understand why you need another MBA and what you hope to achieve that wasn’t possible with your first one.
