Paolo : For centuries oceans and human eccentricity have been linked in the literary and artistic imagination. Such linkage is probably due to the European Renaissance practice of using ships as asylums for the socially undersirable.
Tajudeen : No, Oceans have always been viewed as myterious and unpredictable qualities that people hav invaribly associated with eccentricity.
Paolo's and Tajudeen's statements lend the most support to the claim that they disagree about which one of the following statements?
Eccentric humans were considered socially underirable during the European Renaissance. Oceans have always been viewed as mysterious and unpredictable. The linkage between oceans and eccentricity explains the European Renaissance custom of using ships as asylums People have never attributed the same qualities to oceans and eccentrics. The linkage between oceans and eccentricity predates the European REnaissance.

My take would be on (E) for the question here is"What is the reason of conflict between the 2" Ans: The reason is P says:Because social ill elements were sent to ships as asylums, ppl started relating oceans to human eccentricity ( which essentially means this view of was born, only after ill elements were sent as asylums) and T contends this by saying "this is because of the nature of the mysterious nature of man(which means this has been existing ever since man was there)
So the point of content is def the date during which this perception is believed to have born..

This was really hard - before reading the answer choices, I assumed it had something to do with how they define eccentricity. therefore, chose D...but, I dont feel 100% happy with that answer.

A. out of scope, the option should have both oceans and eccentricity. Drop it B. This is Tajudeen's reasoning for the argument, not the argument. Drop it C. This is Paolo's reasoning, but in reverse order. Paolo is saying A caused B. This option says B caused A. Drop it D. i think both of them agree that people have attributed same qualities to both. Drop it. E. Right answer. Based on his statement Paolo will say that becuase this linkage was due the practise of usnig ships .......... during European Renaissance. Means before European Renaissance, the linkage wasnt there. Tajudeen will say that the linkage has always been there..... They'll disgree on this point.

Paolo thinks that its during the rennaissance that created the linkage but Tajudeen's statement tell us that he thinks that the linkage was established ealier and not for the same reasons. I think the difference in reasons is key here.
