Hi,

I was looking at accounting phd programs but could not find a comprehensive list the universities that offer phd in accounting.
byuaccounting provides a ranking of accounting programs but it doesnt give any information regarding to gmat requirement.

Here is my basic profile:
Gmat: 700
Master(MBA) gpa: 4.00(over 4)
Undergrad gpa: 2.80 (over 4)
Age: 38 (working in an asset management industry)
not a us citizen

Florida Atlantic University, College of Business Boca Raton, FL
Florida Int'l University, College of Business Administration Miami, FL
Louisiana Tech University, College of Business Ruston, LA
Memphis, University of, Fogelman College of Business and Economics Memphis, TN
Mississippi State University, College of Business Mississippi State, MS
Texas at Arlington, University of, College of Business Administration Arlington, TX
UConn
Texas Tech
University of Arizona
Baruch college
Arizona State

Do you think my basic resume gives me a good shot to get into any of these schools?
I am wide open on any suggestions on where else would be a good place for me to apply?

Any help would be huge!! Thanks

Just to give an update on the process which might be useful to someone with similar background.

I talked to several program coordinators, they told me that it was also important to have some experience.
Anyway, I am starting with my applications and adding several other universities to my list.

Any input from community members will be appropriated.

Thank you.

You profile is extremely competitive and work experience is not a must. Without wasting any time put together your application and apply for PhD. If Accounting is looking dubious you can apply for Finance PhD since you experience is in that area.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion Ann Marie.
I know that Insead is a great university and I would definetely put it at the top of my list if I were to apply universities outside of US.
Since my wife is also interested in moving to US, we are not thinking about relocating to other counties at the moment.

Best,

Ozer

Hi everyone,

Some of the programs that I am interested in (such as UT austin, UT Houston) listed average gmat score of 700-710 in their web site.
So, would you consider applying to them, considering that I got 690 from gmat? and what do you think that my chances are in getting and admission?
On a second question, I wasn't able to find average gmat score of these schools.
If anyone has any info about these schools(average gmat vs. ), I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.

University of Arkansas
University of Georgia
Texas A&M
Lousiana State University
University of Central Florida

Thank you.
