I am writing this message with utmost desperation and plea for help. I have been preparing for GMAT since June 15th and gave my first attempt on 27th July, 2023, I scored 570 (Q48 V21). Verbal section messed it all up and somewhere I had seen it coming as even during the preparation I had devoted less time in understanding the strategy or the crux of the syllabus. I then took it up as a challenge to hone my verbal skills and focus on understanding the logic + grammar rules. CR was my biggest weak spot and hence decided to face it head-on and knock it down first. My accuracy in CR improved from 30% to 70% but somewhere there was something lacking.
With the hopes to apply to colleges in Round 1, I was tentatively looking at taking the test on 31st August 2023. With that being said, my mocks on the other hand were making me doubt this decision of mine. My current Official Mock scores are as follows-
Mock 4- 700 (Q49 V36)
Mock 5- 590 (Q47 V26)
Mock 6- 600 (Q46 V27)
Keeping my current scores in mind, I have planned to postpone the exam date(plan to give it by September end) and aim at applying in round 2.
My level of preparation right now-
Courses I have followed so far- TTP, Gmat Club, Power Score CR Bible, Manhattan SC, Egmat Verbal notes from a friend.
I have extensive notes on Verbal grammar rules and CR strategy. If you ask me, study wise I have reached a proficiency level of 75%. What's pulling my scores back- I don't have a sure shot method of approach, SC confuses me a lot and I often end up panicking/ having a mental fog, I usually end up guessing 4-5 questions towards the end due to time shortage, I desperately need fine tuning across all the 3 sections.
I really don't know how to proceed now. Every mock I give disheartens me and I have reached a stage where I have begun fearing verbal. I am sure with the right guidance I will be able to achieve my dream score of 750+ but, the time is of essence here and I don't have much of it as I plan to take the test around 30th September.
