My Background - Internal Audit / Internal Consultant for a drilling contractor
My Goals - I would like to continue to work in the oil and natural gas industry (even though we are in the pits right now). Particularly interested in the finance side of things - willing to relocate anywhere in the US / world.
Finances - With Scholarships Emory would be the cheaper of the two.
Thoughts on Mendoza - I feel that any recruiter anywhere in the United States has heard of Notre Dame and considers it a prestigious school. I understand that it is not ranked as well as Emory but I feel as if i would still receive a world class education.
Thoughts on Emory - The company i work for turned over 15billion rev before the downturn ( so it's a relativiely large company) and our recruiting managers have never heard of Emory. I feel that it is a lot more regional than Notre Dame and i do not necessarily want to be "pigeon holed" to the south or Atlanta.
Major Concerns - I beleive earning potential is irrelevant and varies from person to person, but stat websites say that Emory will pay off a little more over the long run. I dont want to take an arbitrary number and apply it to my schools now - how accurate are these projections??
Other considerations - Notre Dame Hockey and Football would be sweeeet. There is nothing in South Bend but Atlanta is a major business hub.
I guess my question is - what school would give me more options? I am currently leaning towards Notre Dame.
