sorry that you had to cancel your exam - you shouldve complained if there was noise because that means the folks werent doing their job in keeping the place quiet... next time bring ear plugs if it really bothers you.
I don't think those are allowed right? I know gum chewing isn't.

I think they provide you with earplugs, from what I've been told.

Also, if you think the testing center was noisy, then you should complain. Maybe GMAC will let you reschedule a test for free. I wouldn't count on it, but it's worth a try.

I do remember they had these big uncomfortable headphones though. They did block the noise out.

those headphones are for audio exams for other tests

Call the different test centers around you and see if they'll tell you if they provide ear plugs.

For instance, the test center in Manhattan on 44th Street and 5 Avenue has the ones where you couldn't hear a baby crying even if it was right next to your ear.

true. im going to bring my own ear plugs. those big puffy ear muffs are for the ASVAP's or some other exam. They probably don't do much to cancel noise for concentration.

Figures if you're gonna pay $250 bucks they da** better give you some pretty beast ear plugs :D
