Pluto, along with the solar bodies Ceres, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris, are properly classified as dwarf planets, which differ from planets in that dwarf planets are not sufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from the areas around their orbits.

A. are properly classified as dwarf planets, which differ from planets in that dwarf planets are not sufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from the areas around their orbits Incorrect

B. is properly classified as a dwarf planet, which differs from a planet in that a dwarf planet is not sufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from the area around its orbit Correct

C. constitute the dwarf planets, which, unlike planets themselves, are not sufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from their surrounding areas Incorrect

D. is properly classified as a dwarf planet, which differs from a planet through it being insufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from the area around its orbit Incorrect

E. are properly classified as dwarf planets, which differ from plane Incorrect

Pluto singular, are and constitute both are plural
so, eliminate A, C & E

D - through uses wrong, it refers to what - a planet or a dwarf planet?

This question is testing SVA and if you spot the SVA error, this question is very easy.

As soon as you see along with you have to remember you can strike out the additional information that follows it.

Pluto, along with the solar bodies Ceres, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris , are properly classified as dwarf planets, which differ from planets in that dwarf planets are not sufficiently large to clear all planetesimals from the areas around their orbits.

Pluto is the main subject and requires the singular verb is.
Eliminate A, C and E.

Between B and D.
Option D: You should realize immediately that the way the sentence is framed is an absolute mess. Pick B and move on.
