This is a trick question! If I get into CBS (ED app) then it's just 1... but if not, then it's 2. If I don't get into either of those two... then next year it'll be 4, ha!

wow - quite a few people are applying to 6+ schools!
That's going to be really tough! I think the recommendation is no more than 2 schools per month.

Of course 6 or more does not mean that they are applying to all in the same round. I am applying to 3 in round 1 and based on the outcome will apply to others in round 2.

Just pulled some stats for all of the applicants who have filled out the Advanced Profile. It looks like on average people are applying to 3.48 schools.

Not applying this year. But I have 10-11 schools on my hit-list, which I need to narrow down to 4-5. No way I'm killing myself with more than that!

I included the consortium app in my response, but the reality is I'm filling out 4 applications

Well, depends on the decisions of the first schools, but I'm thinking about a maximum of 8.

I had list of 12-14 schools this spring.
Than I took off HBS and Stanford to be more realistic.
If on my GMAT I will score above 720, I will apply to Wharton, if not, I will skip it.
I also deleted Cornell, Duke and Darden - since I would not like to attend these schools even if admitted with $$$.
I have also deleted MIT Sloan, becuase my experience do not match to the school and I don't have any clue what to write in MIT's essays :x (I see them a way different than those at other schools).
So as of now I have 7-8 schools in my list (still considering to drop some of them) and I have already applied to 3 of them. If accepted I will stop my application process.

So I cant say to how many schools I am applying this year. All will depend on the outcome from previous applications.

I applied to 6 schools all in round 1. Truthfully, I never thought I'd be able to pull it off, but I did. It was a very intense process, but I'm happy to finally be done with my applications!

Bump.
For the better aid opportunity, I think the internationals typically apply to more than 6 schools.
I know many people who applied to 10-12 schools for the MS.

Intersting data.
