Hi all,
Consider the following 2 sentences:
1. How many/much of the population lives in poverty.
2. Many/much of the people live in poverty.
Now, I know that it has to do something with the property of the noun of being countable or uncountable.
I wanna know the answers and the reason behind it.

1. How much of the population lives in poverty.
2. Many of the people live in poverty is correct.
Also note that, while comparing Population, we use 'less than' and 'greater than'. When comparing people we use 'fewer' and 'more than'. Experts can correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm sorry but I can't give u the reason behind it. IMO, u shouldn't be concerned about it either. Just remember these two points for GMAT's sake
