Stmt 1 - The quadrilateral is a square. (Diagonals bisect each other at 90 degrees - Square and Rhombus. Diagonals bisect each other and are equal - Square and Rectangle)
Not sufficient to calculate the area.
Stmt 2 - Length of each diagonal is 10 cm. Length of each is equal - Can be square of rectangle. Length of diagonals is not equal in rhombus.
Not sufficient to calculate the area.
Both together - Square plus length of diagonals is given - sufficient to calculate side and hence area.
Answer : C

Though the answer is correct option C but from statement 1 we get that the quadrilateral is a square and not a rectangle as diagonals of a rectangle don't bisect at 90 degrees.
