Strange that her cake is 2- dimensional. Anyways,
BAX and CDY are (30-60 and 90) triangle.
Hence, \(AX= YD = \frac{a}{2}.\)
We get \( AD = \frac{a}{2}+a+\frac{a}{2} = 2a\)
the perimeter of one of the pieces of the cake = \(AB+BC+CD+AD= a+a+a+2a = 5a\)
