A biologist measured the areas, in square centimeters, of the dorsal fins and tail fins of 4 adult specimens, A through D, of a particular species of fish. For each specimen X, the area of the dorsal fin is given as \(d_{X}\) and the area of the tail fin is given as \(t_{X}:\)

On the basis of these specimens, the biologist hypothesized that areas of the dorsal and tail fins of adult fish of this species are positively correlated.

To support the hypothesis we need to see that the values of tx is in correspondence with the values of dx (as per the data provided). (Kindly refer to the image for better understanding)
dE=2,tE=2.....As per our reasoning, it neither supports nor undermined the hypothesis.
dF=3,tF=3.....As per our reasoning, it neither supports nor undermined the hypothesis.
dG=4,tG=2....As per our reasoning, it will undermine the hypothesis. Since the value of Tx is lesser than 4 (refer the data of specimen A and compare it with the data for specimens B & C)
dH=5,tH=5.....As per our reasoning, it neither supports nor undermined the hypothesis.
dI=6,tI=8.....As per our reasoning, it will support the hypothesis. As the value of Dx is increasing and so is the value of Tx. there can be multiple scenarios which will lead to this data point. For example:
