Say AD = x
AB = 2x
Perimeter = 6x
Area of rectangle = 2\(x^2\)
Statement (1) The perimeter of ABCD is 30.
x can be calculated; Hence, Sufficient
Statement (2) The area of ΔCED is 25.
x can be calculated; Hence, Sufficient
(D) is the answer IMO

If AB = 2AD. What is the area of rectangle ABCD?
AD = l
AB= 2l
(1) The perimeter of ABCD is 30.
Perimeter = 2(l +b) = 30
2(2l + l) = 30
2 * 3l = 30
6l = 30
l = 5
AD = 5 and AB = 10
Sufficeint.
(2) The area of ΔCED is 25.
0.5 * b * h = 25
CD * AD = 50
2 * AD * AD = 50
AD^2 = 25
AD = 5
AB = 10
Sufficient again.
IMO D
AD = l
