What is the area of triangle ACD?
area of ΔACD = 0.5*AD*CD (as angle ADC = 90 degree)
(1) The area of ΔADB is 20.
=> 0.5*AD*AB = 20
Clearly, the given information is not sufficient to determine the area of triangle ACD.
(2) The area of ΔBCD is 14.
Since, ΔBCD and ΔACD share common base (CD) and AD is height of both the triangle's (because angle ADC and angle DAB are both 90 degree, so AB is parallel to DC) therefore area of ΔACD is also 14
