Hello Experts,

I recently got my ESR and now I am toying with the idea of writing the focus. I need help with three questions:

1) If I were to write the classic GMAT in one month from now, how do I improve on Quant? What should be my strategy as I need atleast a Q49/Q50 to reach 750.

2) Should I switch to the focus? As both my weakest subsections will be eliminated- Goemetry + SC.

3) The Data Insights scares me as I am not a fan of MSR(Hate that). I had a bad IR performance this time but in my last two attempts, I had a 7 on IR. Should I try focusing on doing Data Insights for the next one month?

Would really appreciate any help from the experts, thankyou

I would strongly recommend you to stick to classic GMAT. You are almost there! Your timing strategies are impeccable.
You are at V42 even if you are not happy with SC. Just maintain that.
For Quant, there are obvious areas of improvement - Number Properties, Sets, Statistics and Geometry. You are brilliant in Arithmetic and Algebra - it means you have a high aptitude. All you need is a push in your areas of weakness. Work hard on them for a month. Thereafter, you should get a 760+.

Keep in mind, Focus is the new edition of GMAT. It is a different test and you will need to put in a lot more effort to switch. It is worth it in some cases but not all. In your case, I don't think it is worth it at all.

Hi KarishmaB thankyou so much for such a quick response. Yes, I completely agree with goemetry sets statistics being my weak areas.
To improve these areas, what should be my strategy ? I have finished almost all the official questions+ official mocks + manhattan mocks+GmatClub tests.

I will ofc go through all the shared posts by you but should I go hunting for new questions or will revising my already solved questions+ revisiting the mistakes give more value? Would appreciate any pointers on this.

You don't need hundreds of practice questions. You need to work on your concepts. Understand the why and how behind everything. Fit the pieces of the puzzle together and let it all make sense to you. After that, practicing a few questions on each topic would be enough. You could just review the 700+ level questions from the sources you mentioned. See if you are able to solve them. If yes, then you are ready for a retake (If you really do want one. Otherwise 730 is a great score too.)

Thankyou KarishmaB, this is excellent advice. I will follow through on it should I decide to write it again. Still in two minds about it.
