Hi CL111,

To start, I'm hoping that you can clarify something from your post - have you taken ANY practice CATs under realistic and timed conditions? I ask because you stated that you had not yet started timing your practice/tests yet - and if this recent CAT was NOT taken under realistic, timed conditions, then the score result is likely 'inflated' (meaning that you aren't really at the 710 'level' yet).

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What is your exact Test Date?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

pushpitkc and itisSheldon, Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I will definitely check those.

Hey EMPOWERgmatRichC, I have not taken any CATs under timed conditions. Yes, I totally agree that I might have difficulty finishing with the same level scores if it were timed. I tend to overrun on the clock when I'm doing verbal. Quant is mostly fine. Which is why I was wondering if I should focus on practicing more or take more tests.

Regarding your questions, my test date is 6th June and I am planning to apply for the year of 2020 (still need plan out the details on which schools exactly etc).

Thanks,
CL

Hi,

You can use Experts' Global Practice tests! They also have a Verbal Only course. I personally found the software most helpful.

Hi CL111,

Since you have not been taking your practice CATs properly, I strongly recommend that you take a NEW CATs (one of the new, shorter format CATs) and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can discuss how best to proceed. Until we have that data, we won't know for sure what you need to work on.

Hi Everyone,

I have started my GMAT prep more than a month ago and have 6 more weeks left before my test date. I am hoping some of you might be able to help with my preparation :-) . So far, I have done Manhattan strategy guides and OG.

I am kind of good with quant but pretty bad at verbal (especially at SC) and time management - haven't started timing my practice/tests yet. I took a Kaplan mock today and scored a 710 (Q50 & V38), but I have been told by multiple people that I should consider my score as (kaplan score minus 30), as their tests are easy. I am targeting 750. Haven't taken the GmatPrep mock yet and plan to take one in the next 10 days.

I also bought both quant and verbal review guides and plan to start those next and for quant, I was suggested a 700-800 level questions pdf. I was wondering what else I need to do to reach my target, should I practice more or start taking more tests? If I need to practice, where can I practice verbal from? I feel very under prepared in verbal right now. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance :),
CL
