Local data storage devices are invariably limited by the need to have specific storage devices on hand. Cloud storage, however, relying on internet-based data storage, provides superior data recall options. Therefore, local data storage devices will soon become obsolete for use in major projects.

Which of the following statements, if true, would cast the most doubt on the conclusion drawn above?

A. A major expansion of cloud storage services, predicted to occur this year, has not come to pass, whereas the production of local data storage devices has increased significantly.
B. In the context of projects that take place in a single geographic location, the issue of keeping specific storage devices on hand does not pose a major challenge.
C. In major, time sensitive projects, the ability to recall data in the event of a loss of external communication is vital and can only be provided by local storage devices.
D. A storage method’s ability to securely store large amounts of data is a quality that is crucial for any large-scale project.
E. By careful management of local data storage devices, it is possible for major projects to avoid many of the inconveniences associated with local data storage.

Looking to develop technologies that can produce cost-effective industrial material, material scientists at Lexington University are developing a new way to make bioplastics, plastic materials produced from biomass sources. The technology uses chitin, which is the tough, fibrous substance that forms the exoskeletons of insects and crustaceans. First, the chitin is harvested and subject to deacetylation, and then worked into stiff sheets with the same structure as natural chitin shells. Its chitinous structure renders the material durable and versatile, making it easy to work with and lowering the cost of using it in manufacturing.

Which of the following considerations would, if true, most strongly support the hypothesis that the plan, if implemented, will produce cost-effective industrial material from chitin?

A. Because chitin is naturally-occurring, no special engineering process is needed to produce the basic fibrous structure that provides the material with its durability and versatility.
B. The current cost of bioplastics is roughly five times that of standard plastics.
C. Chitin is an important element in the food chain and helps regulate the chemical composition of marine environments.
D. Bioplastics are somewhat more heat resistant than previous types of plastics.
E. The production of bioplastics primarily uses eco-friendly materials.

Michael bought 12 concert tickets, each at the same price. Later, he resold all 12 tickets for the same higher price per ticket and paid t percent tax on the profit from the resale. After paying the tax, what was Michael’s net profit from the resale?

(1) The resale price per ticket was 40 dollars more than the purchase price per ticket.
(2) If the tax rate had been 15 percentage points higher, then Michael’s net profit would have been 360 dollars.

Can someone please explain this question? Why it is E not C?
++ It should be C imo. I had worked out my solution for it in the comments and I am getting C accordingly. Can someone please guide?
