I gave my first GMAT prep practice test yesterday and got Q47, V28 and total of 620. My GMAT is scheduled in 3 weeks from now. I did some preparation for the content from Manhattan prep books for a few weeks before giving this test.

I think I am okay with the content but do not have enough practice, especially need more of it in verbal. Time-efficiency was one of my major issues in yesterday's test. I have a full time job so I can devote 2 hours at max daily in weekdays and more time on weekends.

Can anyone please point me to online practice material and suggest what is the best strategy to follow everyday, given the time that I have left in hand for my GMAT.

I want to avoid rescheduling the GMAT.

Your responses will be really appreciated as I am kind of tensed.

Best,
Asha

Hi Asha ,
Raising your score from 620 to 720 will need more than 3 weeks of preparation.Just to put things into perspective, 720 is 94 percentile.
- Analyze your performance in the verbal sub-sections and dedicate time accordingly.

- OG and Verbal review - Don't just solve questions but think like the test maker and analyze the details.
- Magoosh on demand - this is a course with decent ROI
- For Quant - Manhattan or Veritas prep guides are good
- GMAT Club tests are fantastic for quant practice.
-Also , solve the questions in Bunuel's signature.

SC - e-GMAT and Manhattan SC - It can be improved in the least amount of time. This is the best e-GMAT module.
- CR - Powerscore , e-GMAT , MGMAT Ron's videos
-RC - MGMAT or Veritas reading strategy
- GMAT Prep exam pack 1 and 2
- GMAT question pack 1

e-GMAT Scholaranium - Good tool for verbal practice.

Hope this helps!! :)

Hi

1. You should practice verbal portion of gmat, and the weak areas in verbal i.e RC, CR or SC
2. Always time your practice
3. Review your wrong answers
4. Official CATs are best for Mock Exams but, you can practice by GMAT Club Tests in quiz mode
5. Take 4-5 Verbal CATs and review your pace and wrong answer, pace is something which is very important
because most of the test taker fall short of time

Best of Luck
Cheers

Hi Asha,

Unfortunately, the goal to raise your score 100+ points in 3 weeks is likely too difficult to be considered realistic. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores. From what you've described, your studies have not been consistent - and 'cramming' for Tests such as the GMAT rarely leads to great results. This is all meant to say that you might want to consider pushing back your Test Date - it will likely take at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study for you to hit your goal score.

Given your application plans, you still have plenty of time to study, take the GMAT and work on your applications. However, since we're already in May, you'll want to be really efficient with your time over the next several months. As such, you would likely find it beneficial to invest in a GMAT Course of some type (either Guided Self-Study or instructor-led).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Asha,

you have only 3 weeks left . So accordingly I am suggesting you few books.

1- Quant : As you scored Q47 so you can raise it to Q 50 or 51 . Practice GMAT club tests . These are fantastic . I also raised my Q score with the help of Gmatclub quant tests. I scored Q50. These tests are more than enough to score Q50/51

2- Verbal: At least with in 3 weeks , you can read manhattan GMAT SC books. Also Read free article and watch free video on E-GMAT. You can practice questions using scholaranium (free account).
For CR - read power score CR bible. this is more than enough.
-RC - you can practice using GMAT forums RC questions
- GMAT Prep exam pack 1 and 2

thanks
