Hi Jon,
Thanks for your feedback. Below are additional information regarding my profile:
1. I work for one of the largest real estate developers in the country. (Philippine-based company)
2. My role is a Project Development Officer- my role includes (1) preparing financial models (cash flow projection, profit and loss statements, net income targets) for residential projects, (2) leading cross-functional teams in the conceptualization and execution of our projects (i.e. sitting down with architects and engineers and trying to balance their viewpoints [aesthetics vs. structural integrity] while maintaining reasonable costs, (3) coordinating sales and marketing efforts to ensure financial targets are met. I could get solid recommendations from my boss and project partners due to strong sales and on-time execution.
3. The size of my projects amount to approx. $20M in projected revenue

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hey, this is a good start, but I need more:
Do you initiate projects yourself? Any good success?
Do you do deal-making yourself?
Do you lead any people?
What is your team size?
What is your greatest individual achievement?
Your greatest team achievement?

Or you simply contact us for an evaluation and fill out our questionnaire, to talk to someone: https://bit.ly/mbafcGC

Best,
Jon

Hey Jon,
Thanks again for your reply. Please see my responses below for your review:

1. Do you initiate projects yourself? Any good success?
-In terms of locations, all projects are assigned to us (i.e. management provide us with the raw land, we begin to conceptualize and start planning our financial and selling strategies); however, in terms of initiatives within that project, (i.e. sales strategies, cost reduction strategies), i could provide a wealth of examples that would show how i helped the company increase revenues and decrease costs.

2. Do you do deal-making yourself?
- I form part of a team that deals with the following:
(a) dealing with our building contractors at minimizing costs while maintaining aesthetics
(b) dealing with our homebuyers who wish to add some customizations in the product
(c) dealing with government agencies in expediting the release of necessary permits.

3. Do you lead any people? What is your team size?
-Directly, no. But in project management matrix, I lead a cross functional team of about 20 people.

4. What is your greatest individual achievement?
-Personally, I overcame physical challenges (i.e. from obese to becoming healthy) by consistent discipline and exercise
-Professionally, when I was up at 1am, cleaning the floors of our model condominium unit, to help our construction team in the field finish the unit, ready for showcase by 8am. Its the first time I went out of my way from a desk job to assist in completing a deadline, hands-on. My team appreciated the support and encouragement during that crazy time.

5. Your greatest team achievement?
-Hitting our financial targets when we were struggling in the first 3 quarters. Morale was low in our sales team, but constant prodding and encouragement, help us reach our targets.

Hope this helps.
EJ

Okay EJ,
Great! Thanks for the info. Now I get your profile better. So overall, everything is nice and solid - you have good grades, a great GMAT, work for a good industry, are the right age, have a bit of time abroad.... All very excellent. Your projects are pretty big too, and I think if you remain in your industry your goal should be convincing.

I don't see any major weaknesses either - maybe only that you could work for a more famous global firm and that you lack leadership. On a minor level, your GPA could be higher for Top 10 schools.

Now I think you will have a shot at the schools on your list, although I think you can apply to them with decent chances, but if you apply ONLY to Top 10 it might be a bit hcallenging, so I'd suggest expanding your school list to Top 20 and having a few schools from the Top 10 in your strategy and then a few from Top 20.

And you should of course apply to Columbia, which has the best Real Estate program,

Best,
Jon
