Anyone received interview call yet for Jan 2016 intake?

Hi,

I think u have applied after the deadline of 1st round. So probably ur application will be considered in the 2nd round. I am not sure though. The applicants of 1st round have been interviewed i believe. Mine was done on 22nd June.

i have got an offer from AGSM this week... :-D

but didn't receive scholarship....

what are the other ways to fund the tuition fees. is there any other scholarships we could apply?
can we get jobs on the campus to take care of our daily expenses.

I got in with $25000 scholarship... But hesitant because of the job scenario post graduation...

Do u guys have any suggestion?

There are other options...
check the scholarship page in the tracking portal....

About the job issue...since work visa is only available to 2 yrs course...n MBA at AGSM is 16months...job is a problem

Hi,

I got admitted to the MBA program for Jan 2016. When I spoke to the Director Clinton Free, he said that the uni will give you an internship or a research kinda thing to make the course a 24 month course for int students seeking work visa.

Hey Guys,

Sorry, I was late on updating this forum, but I have now posted application tables and deadlines in first post. Those who are applying to this school, please add it to your GMAT Club profile and set the current application status.

I have a few questions and those who have been admitted or current AGSM students may please answer....

1) Is there only one intake per year? (i.e. only January Intake?)

2) Since program duration is 16 months, how much time do international students get to search for jobs in Australia? Can a student get Visa extension ?

3) What is the placement rate of the school and where the majority of students end up being placed after graduation? Also which companies generally recruit at AGSM?

Hi. AGSM is very focused towards management consulting and most of the placements off campus are in that industry. Having said that, majority of the previous Cohort has gotten jobs in various fields. Very few companies (other than the consulting ones) would sponsor you. You'll need a PR to get jobs in most places. So its best that you all apply for PR before coming because it takes time.

1) Yes
2) Most consulting companies would have offered a job before you graduate. Your visa is usually valid till sept whereas classes will end in April (depending on where you go for exchange) and graduation is in July. You can now apply for 'MBA EXTENTION' which is a 5th semester costing 10,000AUD. You get 6-12 month extension and are eligible for the 2-year work visa (knight visa) once you graduate. In session 5, you will have to find an internship for yourself and are graded on your performance.

3) If you have PR, you can easily be placed in the industry you are currently working in. Off campus recruitment is mostly by management consultants.

Guys,
Need some quick help. I know I'm late in the game, but planning to go for 2016 intake.
1. If admitted in R3, being an intl applicant, can I realistically expect to complete visa formalities in remaining two months or so?
2. How is AGSM placement scenario for typical finance jobs? Is it only about consulting, consulting and consulting?
3. what are the pros n cons of going on student visa against PR?
