Hello! I'm trying to decide between applying round 1 for this year for full time MBA or postpone application for one year to build up experience/extracurriculars. I am an American of Asian descent.
25 year old female
Target Schools: CBS (#1), Yale, Kellogg, NYU, HBS (stretch!), London Business School
GMAT:
1st attempt: 660 (q41, v40), AWA 5.5, IR 7
2nd attempt: 700 (q47,v39), AWA 5, IR 8
Undergraduate:
Business Administration from University of Washington, concentration in Finance + Certificate of International Studies in Business
Graduated in 2014
Overall GPA 3.3, Finance GPA 3.6 -- I know my GPA is low...it certainly improved each year and my last quarter I got a 3.6. I expect to write a additional essay explaining this piece.
Work Experience
Prior to graduation:
Finance intern at Amazon (6 months)
Intern at Morgan Stanley WM (5 months)
After graduation:
Started at Amazon in the Retail Undergraduate Program. This is the only program through which Amazon hires undergrads into their retail business. I have held a leadership role on the team and received an award for it in January 2016. I was promoted in April 2016 to manage a larger business (same team).
Extra Curricular
Was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi (business fraternity) in college. Served as the VP of Membership for a quarter where I was in charge of recruitment and marketing for the fraternity.
Served as Social Chair for my undergrad program at Amazon for ~1 year. Organized happy hours, fun events for new hires, holiday party, etc.
Thanks in advance for the input!
