Hi experts!
I'm facing a bit of a struggle at shortlisting colleges - different folks have told me different things so I'd love an expert's opinion before I dive into applications and hiring consultants! My profile is below:
Stats:GMAT 730 (Q49 V40 IR6)
GPA 7.9/10 (roughly 3.2/4)
Background:Nationality/Sex: Indian Male (Passport and Residence)
Undergrad School/Major: Non-IIT T15 regional Indian school, Chemical Engineering
Work Experience: 4+ years in B2B tech PMM | 2 years @ billion-dollar unicorn (1 internship conversion + 1 promotion to typical post-MBA role) ; 2 years @ series-A startup (senior, higher impact role) ; 1+ years at pre-IPO unicorn (post-MBA role)
Extra Curriculars: 150+ hours of community service with an NGO that operates across India, Leadership position in the same NGO (recently promoted, managing 20+ volunteers), 1-2 leadership roles in undergrad
MBA Goals:Goals: Undecided between Big Tech PM and Consulting (not MBB or bust - I want to leverage consulting to exit into tech leadership in sales/product/marketing)
Reach Schools: INSEAD, Ross, Duke Fuqua, Berkeley Haas, Kellogg
Target Schools: Oxford Said, Cambridge Judge, CMU Tepper, Anderson, Johnson (?)
Finances: I can't afford to spend more than $110K, so scholarships at US universities would be essential (would not apply to INSEAD or M7 schools on the list)
Final Thoughts:Experts, what is your opinion of my school selection, and
what would you add/remove from it? As you can see, I do not have a prestigious undergrad, a powerful GPA, or an elite GMAT (for my demographic). However, I'm hoping to make up for it with my above-average work-ex and the EC leadership. I took some feedback from folks on r/MBA to put this list together. Ideally, I want to work in the US indefinitely, so that's a factor I'd consider too! Please let me know what you think!
