Hello All,
I am looking for a feedback on my profile to MBA schools this upcoming cycle. I am an international candidate from India and am looking for scholarships while applying.
My profile is
B Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Shiv Nadar Univeristy, 2015 - CGPA - 6.6
I have been working for the past 57 months in Fermat Education, an Online Education Firm as a Product Developer, current designation is Head of Product Development. I started as a Content Creator, Then worked on website design and creation, then worked in Search Engine Optimization, then involved in the product development cycle. For the past one year, I have also been involved in Product Strategy and Sales. My diverse work experience is mainly because I was given the opportunity to work in all the fields and also because it is a startup. My question is - how will working in a startup (one with lesser brand unlike MNCs) and working in multiple roles instead of having a specialization affect my chances in top 35 ranked US b-schools? Also, post admission, how good are my chances at product development / Gen Management roles in Tech companies?
I wrote the GMAT back in March and secured 710 - Q49 and V36.

Thanks for posting your profile. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile. To answer your question, I actually think that having held multiple roles can give you important insights into how different functions work together. I recommend sharing with the Admissions Committee (AdCom) how your past experiences make you a stronger addition to the classroom. As for whether working in a startup could affect your chances, I think what you do at your work is usually more important to AdCom than where you work. To that point, be sure to explain to AdCom your role and the impact you have had on your company. That said, it also helps if AdCom understands the nature of your company. There is usually space in the application form for you to describe the nature of the business. As for your chances post-MBA at a product development / General Management job at a Tech firm, I'm not sure I have enough information to assess this. EG. what type of Tech firm? What level of tech skills do they require (beyond an MBA)? That can vary a lot between firms. The Career office at business schools should have examples of jobs that their graduates usually take post-MBA. Don't hesitate to reach out to them for more information.

Thanks a lot for your response, tt was really helpful. I was having a few doubts about my profile and your answer cleared most of my doubts. I know that what college should one apply is a personal choice, that being said, is my score good eny to appt to rank 20 - 35 college in USA and hope for some scholarships.
