Before even I start preparing for gmat I wanted to know if I have a chance to get admissions for EMBA. I have 6 years of professional experience. I am a business analyst . In our company we don’t have scope for promotion since it’s a legacy firm all employees are there for about 30 years . When a project is assigned to me I lead from initiation to completion of the project . Within the project all members (3-4 or even more depending on the size of the project)report to me but in the organization chart no one reports to me . It is a healthcare company . Worked for 3 years in consulting for banks before joining the current company - UralSib (Russian bank ) and Suntrust. Also in between 5 years I volunteered in an IT consulting firm - training candidates and preparing presentation and talking to prospective clients . During college days I have volunteered in running a family owned business . Have organized few charity drives . I am 34 years older female Indian. Did bachelors in engineering from a reputed college in our state. 12th - 80% and 10th - 87% . Engineering - first class 67%
I am open to full time and EMBA. I am looking at schools that are in top 30 in the US . My list - NYU, Yale , Cornell, Duke , Georgetown McDonough , UVA Darden , Emory , UNC Kenan Flagler

Hi aepmk - Thank you for reaching out. I'm happy to share some thoughts.
Given your six years total of professional experience, I think you are a better fit for traditional full-time MBA programs (or part-time or non-executive one-year programs). Executive MBAs tend to target candidates with more experience than you have, often 10+ years and in some cases even more.
In terms of your work experience, what will be important is to have recommenders who can demonstrate that you perform better than your peers and perhaps explain that no one gets promoted. It will also be helpful for you to demonstrate examples of impact that you've had and describe the type of leadership that you've done, even if not formal.
I'm a little confused by your 5 years volunteering at an IT consulting firm - is that a non-profit by any chance? Or am I misunderstanding your professional experience - do you actually have more than the six years total? I'm seeing that you're 34 years old -- were there any gaps in your experience since your undergraduate?
I would also urge you to take a practice GMAT and GRE test as you get started, to see if you do better on one of them versus the other. Although they are similar, there can be differences in terms of which one feels better for you.

Chartered Accountant (2012 batch)
I am a practicing Chartered Accountant (self employed entrepreneur) with 9 years of experience, leading a team of 5 on an average at all times. I am based in Agra, so exposure has been limited to small scale businesses. Clients handled - about 100 each year.
GMAT - 660 (Q 49, V 31)
President of the social club - "Alliance Club International - Agra branch"
Certificates in singing, table tennis, elocution at school level.
Looking for admission in IIM(A/B/C/Indore/Kozhikode/Lucknow) or ISB. I am confused that with the above score and profile, will I be able to get into any IIM or ISB. Any suggestions and / or feedback is highly appreciated. If chances to get into my desired schools is bleak, what schools should I try, given that Round 1 for most of the schools have finished.
