Ayralearns - your profile looks good on paper given the undergrad pedigree, GPA, JPMorgan brand, experiences and extracurriculars.

If you're looking at R1 ISB, the deadline is 14th Sep, so make sure to have the score ready by then. Alternatively, you may target R2 deadline (7th Dec) if you're taking the GMAT in Nov.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Arvind

Hello,

I would like my profile to be evaluated please.

10th - 95.3% Madhya Pradesh Board
12th - 93.4% Madhya Pradesh Board
UG - B.Tech 8.12 CGPA - State Government College
Work Ex - Software Engineer (3.8 years) in an MNC
Extracurricular Activities - been part of NSS in college days and volunteered in many social events, currently preparing for GMAT and planning to join some NGOs to improve my profile.

My questions :

1. Am I good candidate for ISB?
2. Where should I prepare for GMAT?
3. How much marks should I require in GMAT to crack ISB?
4. What else should I add/do to improve my profile for ISB?

Kindly evaluate my profile and provide me lucid information.

Dear par1991,

One glance through your profile shows that you have performed quite well academically, which is a strong foundation for your ISB application. From a work experience perspective, you will be part of the heavily represented pool of software engineers, but that does not diminish your chances if you present your story thoughtfully.

Being part of NSS definitely reflects positive qualities and social orientation, though at this stage we do not have enough insight into how your extracurriculars have shaped your skills and motivations. We believe you can still have a good shot at ISB if you aim for a strong GMAT score and present a holistic and well-structured story through your essays.

From a score perspective, a GMAT Focus Edition score of 665 or higher would put you in a strong position. In terms of profile building, adding variety to your professional engagements and clearly showcasing how your extracurricular experiences align with your interests and have helped you develop specific qualities will further strengthen your application.

We would be glad to understand your profile in more depth to provide personalized feedback and guidance tailored to your goals.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to helping MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation. We also share insights and detailed guidance on our YouTube channel, and our latest video on ISB admissions essays may be helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZPE97krOHo.

This year, we are also offering a 50 percent value back guarantee to reflect our commitment and confidence in delivering results, while keeping our offerings applicant-centric.

Please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

To answer your questions:

1. The information given by you is too less to judge if you are a good candidate. One needs more information.
2. Start GMAT prep through basics of Maths and English first. You may like to buy a GMAT guide to help you.
3. Target to hot 670/680 at least
4. Add extra curricular and other skills.

For details, connect with me on 9717300921.

Thanks

Thanks for posting. Here is out assessment.
- You've got solid academics (10th/12th marks plus that 3.86 GPA), the JPMC brand carries weight, and that early promotion to Team Lead shows genuine potential. If you nail a strong GMAT, you're looking at top-quartile territory at ISB.
- Without a GMAT score in hand and testing in November, R1 just isn't happening. Shift your focus to R2. Plus, JPMC BA/PM roles flood ISB applications every year, so generic achievements will make you invisible.
- Push for 90th percentile or higher (think high 600s to 700s range). Anything less and you'll compete, sure, but you won't stand out enough for scholarships in your crowded pool.

Overall a competitive profile. However it would also depend on your test score. Female candidate would have some advantage.

Thanks,
