Extra Curriculars:

Planning to apply in R2.

Post MBA Goals : Consulting (Tech/Health)

Target B-Schools :
USA : Booth,Columbia,Haas,Tepper,Kellogg.
Europe :INSEAD,LBS,HEC,IESE.

What are my chances, considering that I belong to the major pool of applicants (Male, Engineer, IT).
How would you categorize the above B-schools with the above GMAT score and which other B-schools would you recommend.
Should I consider re-taking GMAT ( I genuinely feel I can improve on my QA score and did not do justice with QA during the exam).

Thanks for your time.

Hey there! Like you said, you are coming from the toughest demographic when it comes to b-school apps, and it's also one that tends to have very high GMAT scores (740+). If you think you can get your score up I would work on that for sure. In terms of your current profile, I'd say you are competitive at Tepper, HEC & IESE but the rest will be in the reach category. I'd consider some more schools in the teens (we usually use US News & World Report) like UNC, Emory (both of which tend to accept more candidates from your demographic), UCLA, UT Austin.

You might want to also consider whether there are any other post-MBA goals that feel like a good fit for you. Consulting is a very common goal, especially among your demographic, so it's not a goal that's going to help you stand out -- and that's especially critical when you are coming from such a competitive demographic.
