Hey JWahid
Thanks for posting. I see you were WL'd at Booth and accepted at Olin this season. Is this correct? If so, those are both good signs about your candidacy and your ability to pull off an application.
I think for any candidate from your part of the world with your background, you want to make sure you cast a wide net when it comes to school selection. Competition is pretty tough from your region! So try Rotman, Ivey, Smith, Shulich all in R1 and see what happens. Rotman is probably closest to what you want given their entrepreneurship and innovation offerings, but Rotman is also the toughest school to get into.

A couple of other suggestions:
Make sure your CV highlights any and all international exposure you have. That can help you stand out a bit.
Don't overlook soft skills. Make sure your CV also highlights times where you have managed teams and trained and mentored others. I see a lot of business impact in what you outline about, but not a lot of "people skills." See if you can just a bit more about that to your CV.

I wish you all the best with your applications!
Krista

Hi Krista ,

Thank you for the insightful evaluation. I really appreciate your time.

I was wait listed at Booth and admitted in Olin with full tuition fellowship in 2016 (class of 2018).
But due to some personal reasons, I had to decline the offer.
Now, two years and a trump administration later - I somehow find applying to Canadian business schools more rewarding from work visa, placement and resident ship perspective.

Rotman looks amazing - I will agree, but at the same time - it is very conservative on the scholarships they offer , at least that is what I have heard. And given my financial capabilities - I would need something up in the 60% in scholarship/funding to finish the MBA. With that in mind, what schools do you think would be good choices?

For the other suggestions- you make some very valid point. I would really appreciate if you could just expand a bit on how you think I can touch upon the people skills and managerial skills in the resume? I initially planned to keep them in the essays.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks again-
Jamil
