One point that I can maybe leverage in the applications is how i scored a Q90 after not having studied math after 10th standard.
Absolutely! That is very commendable.

Overall, very decent profile Anirudh.

Make sure that your goals do not wildly stray away from your academic and professional experiences so far.

Kudos for your perseverance on GMAT.

Good luck!

Agreed with Ashish's point above that the Quant score and GMAT perseverance are strong angles.

Make sure your application and interviews are strong as well. All the best!

Hi! Thank you for your reply. This was my third attempt. First being in 2024, 575 and the second being 585, three months ago. I would love to do better and retake the exam and get a score higher than V80, but knowing my intellect and realising my capabilities, I think this is the best score in my cards.

My experience in KPMG was straight from college during COVID and I transitioned into a marketing role at KIA as it was something that I always had a keen interest in. Furthermore, marketing is the field I envision myself working in.

As it stands, do you think my profile is a competitive ISB profile?

Hi AnirudhAG,

While a GMAT improvement would have helpful (considering the average GPA), we understand the exhaustion.

The good news is that the KPMG experience as well as your meaningful extra-curricular activities will fuel your narrative and this will give you a good chance at receiving an interview call (of course, provided the dots add up well and the narrative is compelling).

All the best!

Hi all! I just finished with my GMAT Focus on the 7th of June and scored a 665 (Q90, V80, DI 79)

I would like to know my realistic chances for ISB admit with my current profile. My details are as follows.

Male, 25
2 years work experience as an Audit Associate at KPMG GS, Gurugram
2 years at KIA Motors in UP (1 as a Marketing Associate and 1 as a Marketing Manager after promotion)

Undergrad in a tier 2 Delhi University College (Bachelors of Commerce) with a 7.76 GPA.
Various leadership positions throughout college in different college societies.
State-level table tennis player under 16 and runner up in various e-sports competitions for different games.
Worked as a Teacher in Teach-India for an year in my hometown and have been participating in social activities right from the start of college to even now.

One point that I can maybe leverage in the applications is how i scored a Q90 after not having studied math after 10th standard.
Please let me know where I stand vis-a-vis my competition. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Dear AnirudhAG,

Let’s evaluate your profile across academics, work experience, extracurriculars and test score based on what you’ve shared.

From an academics perspective, your performance seems just about average, although we don’t yet know how you did in your 10th and 12th.

Your work experience is a definite positive. Having worked in two distinct roles across audit and marketing adds breadth to your profile and brings potential to highlight impactful stories, which is a big plus from an application standpoint.

Extracurriculars are where your profile truly shines. Being a state-level table tennis player, your involvement with Teach India and consistent participation in social initiatives all signal strong engagement beyond academics and work.

Scoring Q90 without studying Math after 10th certainly seems commendable, but we will have to brainstorm and see how well your efforts can be articulated and whether it makes for a strong point in the application or not.
We would be happy to speak with you further to explore how to most impactfully present your profile and how an MBA can serve as a launchpad for your aspirations.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation.

Please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

With warm regards,
Team FLY
