There is a genuinely distinctive professional story here, one that sits at the intersection of technical depth and public-sector scale, but the profile as shared leaves the most important admissions variables open: no target programs, no test score, no career goal stated, and no clarity on whether this is an MBA or a specialized master's ask. Here is what we can say on the merits of what you have shared.

• The progression from intern to senior presales at Esri India in under three years, tied to INR 65 Crores in engagements, is a concrete impact narrative, but admissions committees will press hard on your decision-making role versus team contribution, so your essays need to isolate the moments where you personally changed an outcome.

• Geospatial technology for Indian government is a niche most adcoms will not immediately recognize; your job in applications is to translate it into the universal language of stakeholder influence, resource constraints, and measurable change, not assume the domain speaks for itself.

• The IAS training and Kumbh planning work are your strongest differentiators because they signal cross-functional leadership at national scale, not just technical solutioning.

• Your academic profile (77.7% and 73.81%) will matter more or less depending on the program tier you target and whether you have a strong GMAT or GRE to anchor the quantitative readiness question.

Hi Tejas Tejaskapoor

You have a strong niche public-sector digital transformation profile with good progression and project scale. In the application, please make things simple for the reader and focus on your story. Your resume does not yet elicit a wow response and is quite verbose. It needs more impact, leadership, and evidence of YOU influencing strategic decisions rather than being in a support role enabling technical solutioning.

The more deeply researched your goals are, the stronger you will be as a candidate. Your goals are completely missing. Look for people who have walked similar paths and give those precedents to the adcoms. Speak about your target industry, job, and roles in an informed manner, and explain why the field is ripe to leverage the skills and knowledge of someone like you.
Feel free to reach out should you want a more brutal assessment of your candidacy. I wish you all the best.

Best wishes

Hi,

You have a slightly differentiated profile for the one-year MBA programs in India. Going forward, I would encourage you to refine your post-MBA goals. Instead of positioning yourself as someone who wants to continue in presales, build a narrative around transitioning into Product Management, Digital Transformation Consulting, or Public Sector Technology Strategy, with the long-term goal of leading technology-driven governance initiatives. Also, ensure your essays clearly explain why you need an MBA now and how it will help you move from being a technical solution expert to a business and strategy leader.

Target a GMAT of 675 to remain competitive

Happy to connect if you’d like to discuss your profile in more detail.

HI Tejas,

Overall, you have a very strong profile with a lot of good work done. Do also share your GMAT/GRE score if you have already taken the test. If not, aim for a strong score, ideally around 685+ on the GMAT Focus or 325+ on the GRE. Also, do share your post-MBA career goals, because goals will be one of the most important elements in your application narrative. Even if ISB does not explicitly ask for a detailed goals essay in the application, you will certainly be questioned about your goals during the interview.

Coming to your write-up, you have done impactful work with clear business value. However, what is not always clear is who benefited from your work and in what way. That is just as important as listing large numbers.

For example, you mention: “Collaborated with sales and technical teams to secure a landmark INR 15 Crore Enterprise Agreement with MPSEDC under the Naksha Project for Department of Land Resources, Government of India.” This sounds impressive, but for a reader who is not familiar with your industry, a few things remain unclear. What was this agreement meant to achieve? What problem did it solve? How would it help the government department or the citizens it ultimately serves? What is MPSEDC, and what does an enterprise agreement mean in this context?

If you can explain the problem you solved and the stakeholder impact behind these large-scale projects, your profile will become much stronger. Right now, the numbers show scale, but the story behind the numbers needs to show impact.

I would also suggest not flooding your resume with too many pointers. You seem to have several strong achievements, but if you include everything, the most important points may get diluted. Retain only the most impactful examples and write them in a way that brings out the $$ as well as ownership and stakeholder impact.

My other feedback is that you currently come across as someone who is very strong at execution. That is a good thing, but to stand out in the admissions process, you must also demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking, and initiative. Wherever possible, show situations where you did not just support a project, but shaped the approach, influenced stakeholders, identified an opportunity, solved ambiguity, or drove an outcome.

In short, you have strong raw material but the task is to convert it into a strong application story that will make you come across as an applicant who must be part of the ISB classroom.
