Hello Ritul17,

I hope you are doing well. Graduating from a top engineering school, landing a Big 4 offer, and engaging in impactful activities like volunteering and consulting show you're well-equipped for the YLP program. While a slightly higher GPA could be a bonus, your overall profile screams potential and leadership.

Scoring 700+ in your GMAT mocks puts you in the competitive range, so keep practicing to hit that target. Remember, the application is more than just a score.

In your essays, showcase your passion, goals, and specific reasons for wanting the YLP. Connect with alumni and current participants for guidance, and use optional documents to highlight achievements and leadership roles.

Research the YLP's mission and curriculum to demonstrate your fit. Remember, clear and ambitious post-MBA goals will impress the selection committee.

Go for it! With your strong profile, focused preparation, and a compelling application, you have a great chance of standing out in the YLP competition.

Hi y'all, wanted to get some opinions about my profile and required GMAT score

21F, Graduating in June'24 from a Tier-I engineering college
10th- 90%
12th- 82%
Undergrad- 8.2cgpa
Have a FTE offer from the big4

Extracurriculars:
1. Actively volunteering in a non-profit organization since 2021
2. Did some pro-bono consulting for an year

Internship:
Worked as a data analyst for a startup

Since I don't really have a stellar academic profile nor do I have any national level achievements, should I apply for this?
Also what should be my target GMAT score (scoring 700+ in mocks)
Hi Ritul17,

You have a lot working for you academically and professionally; a 700+ on the mocks is good; we hope you hit your target score on the actual GMAT as well.

Once the GMAT is out of the way, you must focus on your essays. How well you portray your strengths and achievements is going to crucial.

To answer your question, we see no harm in applying; you will never really know if you do not take a chance.

All the best!

Hi Ritul17! Your acads are decent, but the three things that you have mentioned (2 in extracurriculars and internship) sound pretty good. I will have to understand in detail about the work you have done in these activities i.e. extracurriculars and internship. Pro-bono consulting, at 21, is pretty impressive, but will have to understand the impact you have created. I don't think you should worry about stellar acads or national level achievements, as long as you can demonstrate a solid impact through your extracurriculars, internship, and GMAT. Is 700+ score on Focus Edition? If yes, then it can partly cover your acads. I think you can have a genuine chance at YLP (you will have to think what you will be doing before joining ISB, then why YLP, and how ISB and your 2-years experience will help you attain your goals).

I think you should definitely have a complimentary call with our ISB admissions interview panelist to discuss the above pointers in detail.

Hi,

The information you have shared here in terms of grades, and activities does put you on the right track to apply for the ISB YLP. Along with a strong GMAT score, all of this brings you at the base camp for the uphill journey to ace the peak. This is where the real climb starts.

What's your story? Introspect and analyse how you will benefit from the ISB PGP, what are your career plans, how have you created an impact in your professional and personal space so far. If there is enough to work on and refine, go ahead and apply.

Applying to ISB YLP  is a lengthy and a tedious process, its important to plan yourself well too.

All the best!
