Hi rx10,
Thanks for posting your profile. The Admissions Committee (AdCom) looks at key factors such as – academic track record (GMAT, GPA), professional progression (promotions, increasing responsibilities), demonstrated leadership (at work and outside of work), community engagement, personal story and even unique personal interests / hobbies. For the top 25 US business schools, your GMAT and GPA look solid. Your work experience is also robust, especially as you're managing a team. Through your volunteering work, you also demonstrate engagement in your community.
To narrow down what schools to apply to, consider factors like the school's average GMAT score - for example, a school like Carnegie Mellon (CMU) Tepper has an average GMAT score (for their incoming class) of 680. This means your GMAT score should be considered competitive at CMU. Another important factor is to consider what your post-MBA goals are and which programs are strong in those industries or functions.
I hope this gives you some initial food for thought as you research the schools. Feel free to sign up for a free 30-minute consultation with anyone on the
mbaMission team if you have more questions!
Sincerely,
Debbie
